Beijing Bureau Operations Scaled Down

April 22nd 2003 - Beijing - In a measured response to the continued presence of the SARS virus in Beijing, the Associated News and Media Group will be scaling down operations in the Bejiing Bureau until further notice.

The majority of media processing will now take place at either of the other two central hubs, London and New York. The majority of media activities will cease and all interviews have been cancelled.

The Associated News and Media Group has stressed that these measures are only a precaution and expect the bureau to resume normal activities shortly.
